Panchord Studio recently went on location at St. Finian's Church, Adelaide Rd., Dublin, to video the Bamboo Sessions, a project initiated by Cathy McEvoy. Sound on the night was by Patrick Burke, with Marion McEvoy on cameras. Cathy explains:

The Bamboo Sessions is a singer-songwriter night with a difference: live string quartet!  June 7th 2015 was the first of what we hope will be a series of such concerts, this time featuring songwriters Celine Carroll, Danny Groenland, Cathy McEvoy, Edel Meade, Enda Reilly, and Sive. The setting was St. Finian's Lutheran Church on Adelaide Road, Dublin 2 and the string quartet was comprised of Mary Barnecutt on cello, Niamh Roche on viola, and Cathy McEvoy and Imogen Gunner on violins. In most cases the songs performed already existed in different arrangements, but the string arrangements were created especially for the Bamboo Sessions.  Aidan Murphy contributed several string arrangements, as did Josh Johnston, but for the most part the songwriters arranged the string parts themselves, a very rewarding experience for a songwriter.  The result was a magical night of music and we look forward to presenting the next one!
